Legal DNA Test
This test is very similar to the Paternity test, but is most commonly carried out when a court has ordered that a test must be undertaken (usually under Section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969).
However, the sample collection must be performed and witnessed by an unbiased third party who has no interest in the outcome of the test. The sampling must be witnessed by a Solicitor or Doctor (General Practitioner) with identification being provided by the persons being DNA tested.
Legal tests are required for many reasons, often to support family members involved in disputes around visitation rights, disputes with the CSA and in child custody disputes.
We provide legal test for individuals, solicitors, social workers and local authorities.
Both Paternity and Legal DNA tests are performed in the same way scientifically and consent by all persons involved is required for both. However with a Legal test, consent must be verified by an independent person, to ensure a strict chain of custody is maintained.
You can order a test right now on this website, make payment online and we will send you a sample collection kit containing mouth swabs which will be used to take DNA samples from the persons involved in the questioned relationship.
Both the Paternity and Legal Tests are accurate and confidential. The only difference is whether the sample collection is witnessed or collected in private.
We understand that Legal DNA tests can be sensitive and complex. Therefore we recommend that you contact Customer Services on +44 (0)1953 668669 to discuss the specifics of your case.
